Sustainability at Flowe

At Flowe, we strive to navigate each aspect of our operations with a considered and environmentally conscious approach — from forgoing trends for timeless designs, to investing in partnerships that allow us to contribute to a more equitable future for all. While we acknowledge that there’s no current path to 100% sustainability, these are the steps we are currently taking as a company:

1% FOR THE PLANET

We take pride in being part of 1% for the planet and its ecosystem of like-minded institutions, which aim to drive positive change across various issues faced by the world today. As a member, we pledge a portion of our sales to causes and communities dear to us.

TEXTILES

Our multi-purpose performance towels are crafted from Global Recycled Standard-certified plastic waste. Collecting plastic from several locations such as oceans and landfills, these items are then recycled and taken to a plastic processing facility, where they are broken down and spun into yarn that make up our fabrics. We are always innovating to source the most sustainable and low-impact textiles available for our products.

RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION

We are a women-led business that works with like-minded manufacturers and suppliers. Our products are lovingly created by our partners in China, another women-led company with whom we’ve built a close-knit relationship throughout our collaboration. We also avoid over-production and create in small quantities.

LONGEVITY AND TIMELESSNESS

Deviating from a trend-based approach, we design each towel with timelessness and longevity in mind. As such, you may find only limited but classic designs at a time. With a focus on durability and quality manufacturing, our pieces are made to be loved and used for a lifetime.

PACKAGING

Currently, we ship with poly mailers made of 100% recycled content and 50% post-consumer content, which have a lower carbon footprint than paper and virgin plastic. It is readily recyclable and can be responsibly disposed of at your nearest recycling bin or drop-off. In our operations, we also strive to choose sea shipping where possible, to further minimize our air cargo carbon footprint.
